About
From January 10th to 22nd, a group of young leaders will climb Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise money and awareness for OperationOF, a non-profit organization which helps women suffering from obstetric fistulas, a horrific and almost unheard of condition.
Kilimanjaro rises nearly 4 miles vertically from the Serengeti plains in Tanzania. This winter break you are offered up the expedition of a lifetime- spending 3 weeks in the Heart of Africa, up a mountain that boasts 20% of all Africa’s snow, on safari in the Serengeti and volunteering at hospitals around Tanzania.
For just $250, you can help treat a women living with a fistula and not only transform her physically, but mentally and spiritually as well.
We are looking for a team of ambitious, organized and passionate members who are excited about making a positive difference in the world and having an adventure of a life time doing it.
The trip is open to anyone who wants to come, or is interested in helping fund raise.
If interested in joining or have any questions, please email Ilya at fistulafree@gmail.com.
The Fistula Free Climb was inspired by Seth Cochran’s Summit for Smiles Campaign which raised $40,000 for cleft palate surgery for The Smile Train through his 2007 climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro. If one man made such an amazing impact, imagine how much a dedicated group working together can achieve.
